This past Sunday, a small group from the iamvisABLE community gathered for a morning of coffee, conversation, and creativity. Meeting at a cozy café, we created a welcoming space for individuals living with invisible chronic illnesses to come together, connect, and simply enjoy being in one another’s presence. Conversations flowed naturally as we got to know each other, shared pieces of our journeys, and found comfort in the shared experience of navigating conditions that are so often unseen.
Beyond conversation, we spent time engaging in a hands-on pottery workshop, allowing creativity to guide us. Working with clay offered a gentle, therapeutic outlet where we could slow down, focus on the present moment, and connect not just through words, but through the act of creating. It was a meaningful reminder of how powerful it can be to work with our hands, express ourselves creatively, and find moments of calm and healing in community.
